Mexico – more photos from our trip

It occurred to me that in spite of my resolution to walk each day while on holiday, I ended up walking about 1km each way on the beach and maybe 3 km back and forth to the village of San Jose del Cabo.  So that’s about 6 square kilometers?  All that way from Canada to Mexico, via Calgary, and I never even visited Cabo San Lucas (the town) or much more than my resort.  That’s pretty bad.  If I compare that scale to Australia, I would have visited my backyard and the school yard over the whole year, not much more.  Gosh!

Anyway, I did take some nice photos as I walked along the beach, so I thought I’d share those along with a few last ones from the resort. Our last day there was the sunniest and warmest yet.  We had reserved our favourite chairs by the pool, had our usual omelets, made by Lucy, for breakfast on the terrace, enjoyed a few last cocktails from the swim up bar (make mine a strawberry daiquiri) and checked out as late as possible.  Luckily, Leon double-checked the departure time for the bus to the airport, because I was off by one hour.  Yikes!!!  I am sure the travel rep said 6:15pm for a 6:30 bus.  We would have had to take a taxi if we had missed the bus.  But we didn’t.

The family came to meet us in the lobby for a last drink (they drank, we tried to get our heads into going-home mode).  Why is it one week seems so long when you plan it, but so short when you are on the last days of it?  One of life’s mysteries. Adios Mexico!

    • We did have a great time. Although judging from our waistlines, 2 all-inclusive resorts in one winter is too much. Next year, perhaps we can find a nice place on a beach where we have to shop and cook our own food.
