A bit of the itinerary

I keep having to look up the itinerary, so I thought I’d put some of it on here.

Dec 28 – depart Vancouver to Fiji, via LA

Dec 30 – arrive Nadi, Fiji (yes, we lose a day as we cross over the dateline).  Transfer via catamaran to Matamanoa island for our 4 night stay at the Malolo island resort.

Jan 3 – return to Nadi for the night, early flight to Auckland, NZ.

Jan 4 – fly to Auckland, stay at Waldorf Apt Studio in town.  Get rental car next day.

Jan 5,6 – Stay at Our Place B&B Paihia, Cape Reinga /90 mile Beach 4×4 day tour,

Jan 7, 8 – Drive to Waitomo Caves tour, 2 nights Farmstay Rotorua (Maori cultural center)

Jan 9 – 1 night Villa Vista B&B Napier,(interesting art deco architecture, wine country)

Jan 10 – 1 night Ibis Wellington (capital city), 2 passengers ferry crossing to South Island

Jan 11 – 1 night Ardara House B&B,

Jan 12,13 – 2 nights Chateau on the Park Christchurch (deluxe room)

Jan 14, 15 – 2 nights Kingsgate Hotel Te Anau (std room), Milford Sound Nature Cruise day tour,

Jan 16, 17 – 2 nights Oaks Shores Queenstown (hotel room)

Jan 18 – fly to Melbourne.

I’ve lost some of the finer details in my memory but I know Leon has received the tickets and vouchers, so I will gladly review all that with him when I get there on Christmas night.

For those who don’t know it, NZ is made up of 2 main islands, north and south.  The North Island is where Auckland is and most of the population of the country.  The South Island is supposed to look much like BC, all green with mountains and rushing waters.  I’ll be sure to add comments and pictures as we visit.
